Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb. That’s where the fruit is.
~ H. Jackson Browne
What I love about this quote is its simplicity. The truth is–the “fruit” usually is dangling, high up in a tree, way out on a limb. You just have to trust that the branch won’t break because getting that “fruit” is key to your survival. And if the branch breaks, you just hope you’ll land on some soft grass or at least a cushy bear.
Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
